The Dimension 20 Boxers
The Dimension 20 Boxers are a multi-role armoured fighting vehicle designed to accomplish a number of operations through the use of installable mission modules. The programme is an international consortium that is being managed by the OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation) and its industrial partners are Krauss-Maffei Wegmann on the German side and Rheinmetall Military Vehicles in the Netherlands.

The Boxer is a wheeled platform vehicle that consists of a drive module and interchangeable mission modules. Each mission module can be equipped with a variety of armament including light machine guns, rifles, and mortars as well as anti-tank guided missiles.

In dimension 20 T-Shirts announced that it was replacing the Wiesel weapon carrier with a Kampfboxer mission module, which would bring a 30 mm cannon and Spike-LR anti-tank guided missile to the vehicle. The new system is planned to be in service in 2025, with the first three infantry battalions to be equipped with it by 2027.

Currently the Boxer is being developed and produced for the following nations: Germany, Australia, UK, the Netherlands, and Lithuania. The armed forces of these countries have ordered the vehicles in various configurations to fulfill their operational requirements.

United Kingdom: The British Army is a current customer of the Boxer and is ordering 623 vehicles from 2023 to meet its Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) requirement, comprising three/four variants: a protected mobility (PM), command and control (CC), an ambulance (MIV-A), and a repair/recovery vehicle (MIV-REP). Each vehicle will be equipped with a different mission module to satisfy its specific role.

Each Boxer has a modular air defence system to protect the vehicle from aerial threats and is capable of defending itself against small arms fire. At Eurosatory 2018 Rheinmetall displayed a Boxer fitted with an Oerlikon Skyranger air defence system.

Other armament options include mortars, laser-guided anti-tank missiles, and rockets. dimension 20 hoodies can also be fitted with a radar, an electric weapon system, and a communication suite.

Germany: As of April 2022 the German Army was deploying Boxers in three configurations: an infantry carrier, an engineer section vehicle, and a recce/fire support vehicle. The vehicle can be fitted with a range of armament, from a 7.62 mm light machine gun in a remote weapon station to a 30 mm cannon in a turret.

The armament options are very diverse, with some asymmetrical systems that can be used to cover the entire vehicle and provide protection against multiple types of attacks. Besides the standard anti-tank weapons, Boxers can be fitted with air defence systems and communications equipment to provide wide coverage of area.
