K2 and Spice - What is K2 and Spice?
Spice and K2 are chemicals that mimic the effect of marijuana when smoked. These products were first created in the 1990s by a chemist named John W. Huffman who was conducting research on cannabinoids at Clemson University.

He had been creating these drugs to study the effects of cannabinoids on the human brain and how the chemicals interact with the endocannabinoid system. But he did not plan on making these drugs available for use by the public.

While these synthetic cannabinoid products have many similarities to marijuana in terms of chemical structure and physical appearance, they differ from the real thing in numerous ways. The most important difference is that they are not grown or derived directly from a plant.

They are often made in labs abroad that are not regulated, which means they can vary widely in quality and composition. This means that you can’t be sure what you are taking, and that your health risks are higher.

These synthetic cannabinoids are sold in branded packages like a sachet or as an incense that can be smoked, but they are also sold in liquid form and can be vaporized using electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). This year, poison control hotlines have seen a record number of calls about K2 and Spice. It has been linked to one suicide and is causing an increase in emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, there are several different kinds of synthetic cannabinoid drugs. These include a wide range of different compounds and mixtures, many of which have not been tested or approved by the FDA.

The most common and dangerous of these is called K2 or "spice." It is a mix of dried leaves that are sprayed with a chemical cocktail that looks and acts like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. It is used by people who are looking to get high without having to smoke marijuana, but it is not safe for everyone.

As with other mind-altering drugs, K2 is addictive. Once a user becomes dependent on the drug, they can’t stop using it and have to seek treatment.
