“In the increasingly diverse, twenty-first century workplace, people face a number of complex challenges to creating a positive image”. The image you portray and how people see you as is a perceived image. The image you want or how you’d like people to see you is a desired image. These two images are completely different because one is how you want to be seen and the other how you are seen. Although there are some similarities between them. Either way you want to be seen positively but you want to show that too.“An individual must manage his or her own image because people are constantly observing ones behavior and forming theories about competence, character and commitment.” Everyone wants to be seen as there desired image such as well mannered in front of others, responsible for there duties or actions, sociable around people, hard working and reliable. Although we want to be seen that way we always need improvement on a characteristic. Either way you want to be seen in a favorable view of qualities and characteristics. We always want to show what we are good at and we want others to notice that but normally we get remembered by how they already see us.

A perceived image is how people see you like they might see you as not responsible, shy, doesn’t work hard or put enough effort. People always look at us as what are are strengths and weaknesses. Also how our image portrays positivity. They compare us too all that and sometimes its bad or good it depends on our perspective. Most people are always willing to say your weaknesses and forget about your strengths. If you forget about all your strengths you tend to focus on your weaknesses and your old strengths become weaknesses. You want to learn how to balance them when trying to improve. Also you want to be open to new opportunities that can improve your personality and the way you want to be seen. For example if people see me as quite I can maybe join a a club or something that involves more talking. Another thing is maybe someone sees you as a talkative person but someone else might see you as very timid. Some of us might want to be seen as quite but others as outgoing. We always want people to notice are strengths.

These two images are different a desired image is how you want to be seen as but perceived image is how you are seen. They can be somewhat similar because you want people to see the great things in you and yo also want to show that. Unlike a desired image you want to also consider to show how you want to be seen as. On the other hand “ Successful image management can lead to personal and career achievements”. Therefore showing people the real you with a great personality will show others how great you actually are and you’re going to feel more confident in yourself.

Once again it is important to recognize between the image you want others to have of you and the image that you think people currently have of you. You always want to maintain your desired image and perceived don’t get carried away. Make sure you show how you want to be seen with positivity. Also take your time if you haven’t decided how you want to be seen you have enough time. Become someone who you want to be not how people want you to be as. Most importantly don’t feel pressured.
