What is a Custom Tapestry and how does it function?
Custom tapestries are an intricately woven wall hanging that is created by professional designers, artists or craftsperson. The process of commissioning a tapestry can be an exciting and rewarding process. It involves careful planning and extensive consultation with the client. However, after a design has been agreed, it is woven on an industrial loom to make a stunning and unique artwork.


Tapestries were historically commonly used as a decorative textiles in Europe. Tapestries were used to create heraldry, tell stories or just as decorative pieces for occasions such as the coronation. Bayeux Tapestry is perhaps the most popular example. It is the story of William Conqueror's defeat at King Harold.

Tapestry weaving has a history that goes back around 15000 years ago. The earliest examples were of tiny scale, yet the method continues to be used across many countries of the globe.


In Europe tapestry weaving developed into an extensively developed art form in the Middle Ages with many large and elaborate works created. It gained popularity at the court of monarchs and was among the primary ways to build wealth. Tapestries were a favorite of the nobility and the aristocracy who would often give them to their family members as gifts.


In the period of the Renaissance, the taste for tapestries spread throughout Europe. photo tapestry or indirectly created workshops that could do high-quality work in their domains. This was especially true in France and the Low Countries, but there were workshops in England, Italy, and the Low Countries.


Tapestry weaving can be a complicated process. There are many threads of different colors of yarns in the warp threads and in the tapestry. In order to create the tapestry's "shed" between the wefts, it requires the use of a lot of skills. Every color change requires yarns to be tied in the correct position on the back of the tapestry. The entire design could take a few months to finish.
