Death - What To Do Upon The Death Of A Loved One

Most of us are 'not' living, but in fact, we are dying daily. This is true both in Physical and Psychological senses. In Physical sense, we die daily because, daily thousands of cells die.

I've personally grieved the loss of family members and dear friends; however, recently I experienced, for the first time, a slow, impending death. I watched my 91 year old Mother for months as she made her transition. I watched her body return to the fetal position, her frail skeletal frame show protruding bones and unpreventable decubitus ulcers, feeding tube challenges, and constant pain. Through it all, though, she never lost her warm smile and her tenacity to fight. I marveled at her strength and wonder if I could ever have that much fortitude. I watched her peacefully die, at home, in her sleep, just as she had said she wanted to die.

Many children ask if their pet went to heaven or parents will tell their children that the pet is in heaven. This is purely a personal choice based on the family's religious beliefs. But again, it is important for children to realize that going to heaven is permanent, too. The pet will not be returning.




"Jesus died on The Cross for You," The Pastor Said. And Einstein told us all to question authority, so, I asked; "Why" which turned out to be the biggest mistake I made all week. Let me tell you what happened next. The pastor went on to tell me how Jesus Christ died on the cross for me, and my sins. He said I was a sinner, and an imperfect human being, and Jesus Christ was the son of God, his only begotten son.

Decide what to do with the body. Where will the body stay until the funeral service is held? Will the deceased be buried or cremated? If decide on a burial, you will also need to choose a casket. For a cremation, will it be at sea or will you need an urn?

Is there a reality beyond death? Edgar Cayce and Rudolph Steiner believe there is a realm beyond the gates of death.While on earth, our reality is outwards. We clutter our lives, we develop attitudes that can be harmful. We stay further away from an inner reality, a spiritual perspective. Upon death, as the soul leaves the physical body, it reflects on the physical realm inwardly. These are the memories, relationships, activities and the clutter stored within which seem prominent at the first stage of dying.

As we approach death, our personal relationships with life and death will set the stage of our acceptance of the new life that awaits us and our loved ones. Fear and unfinished business are two big factors in determining how much resistance we put into meeting death. Hopefully, my understanding of "Gone from my Sight" will help you to understand the dying experience and prepare for the death of your loved one. Let go. It is time for your new beginning.
