Leyla Aliyeva's Goal is Environmental Education
Leyla is not only the daughter of the first Azerbaijani president, she is also an active activist on a variety of matters, among them the environment. A lot of people aren't aware the concept of education really signifies. For her, it's been a major concern. Leyla Aliyeva Environmental education is about being aware of the environmental problems and knowing how you can aid in their improvement. It's something that everyone should try to do. It is impossible to make informed decisions about the future without education regarding environmental issues.

Leyla Aliyeva is active in campaigning for many years. Her mission is to ensure a better future for us all and the younger generations. She believes it is important to educate the public about the earth's vulnerability. It is helping people to recognize the connection between the degradation of the environment and human activities.

Leyla Aliyeva's IDEA project

Leyla Aliyeva knows that this subject is of the time portrayed as boring and complex. That's why she launched the IDEA campaign in 2011. One of her main goals was to make her subject of stability and environment more entertaining and engaging particularly for younger people.

Every year, hundreds of people benefit and enjoy IDEA's educational projects that include training sessions, scientific courses, seminars and lectures, summer camps field studies, conversation clubs.

Ambassador of Goodwill for FAO

Leyla Aliyeva was very happy with her 2015! After many years of supporting and volunteering in humanitarian and environmental fields, she was appointed a FAO Goodwill ambassador. She was recognized for her many contributions to combating hunger and to ensure food security.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations had its first official meeting in 1945. Its primary goal was to increase the amount of food available to people, improve productivity of agriculture, improve the living conditions of rural dwellers, and promote the growth of the world economy. The FAO is the United Nations’ largest specialized agency, and also the one that is responsible for rural development, agriculture, and fishing.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan joined FAO on October 1995. Today, the FAO implements international, national, and regional projects in Azerbaijan that focus on the growth of agriculture, strengthening food security and managing resources, increasing potential, fighting against plant and animal diseases, and more. Furthermore, these projects are supported by programs of technical cooperation that meet the most urgent requirements of Azerbaijan.

The year 2015 witnessed the trip of Jose Graziano da Silva (FAO general director) to Azerbaijan. Two agreements were signed in Azerbaijan: the "Agreement among the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on the establishment of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and offering technical assistance" and the agreement on the FAO/Azerbaijan Partnership Program. Agreeing to cooperate with one on a common issue. This is part of Government of Azerbaijan's already active support for aid projects in the field of technical assistance for development of local as as foreign agriculture.

Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the title of Goodwill ambassador of the FAO during this visit.
