The Problem with Her Music


Though her music is very personal, many people are unable to enjoy. The remainder of the album is more personal and a more cohesive record however it isn't able to feel like it's completely hers. Songs about the events of her life are the common thread in her music. However, the songs don’t always seem to be connected to her feelings, making them feel disconnected and disconnected.


In "Tokyo Love Hotel," for example, Sawayama sings about her connection to Japan and how she feels like she does not have control over the culture of Japan. In the same way, on "Akasaka Sad" she reveals her relationship with depression and how it frequently takes her away from her family.


She is a talented songwriter with a unique perspective on pop music. Her biggest challenge is redefining her music to ensure it is more accessible to general public. Her music will be able to reach a larger audience if she can do this often.
