Celebrating Life Vs Avoiding Death
Fear of death is common. Many of us have associated death with pain. We grieve for the loss of our loved ones. funeral programs focus on the fact that they are no longer with us in physical form and our hearts fill with regret and sadness. Sometimes our negative view of death creates so much negative energy within our bodies, that our bodies begin experiencing symptoms of anxiety like rapid heartbeats, tunnel vision and brain fog.

At some point we decided that the practice of human sacrifice is unacceptable, and so we did away with the practice. Of course this did not happen all at once. Human beings are spread out all over the world, and so certain groups of people took longer than others to do away with the practice. Assuming, of course, they practiced human sacrifice in the first place. Other variables come into play. Dueling was another form of accepted killing that has since been done away with. At one time it was acceptable for two people to settle their differences by fighting to the death.

If the person planning the funeral asks you to briefly share a memory about the one who has died, speak from your heart about something special. Remember that several other people will probably also be sharing and keep your comments brief. This type of sharing might also be part of a "homegoing" service, a celebration of the person's life or a graveside memorial.

OK. Home stretch. Having put together a stunning funeral slideshow, you should burn it to DVD and have it boxed so that it is properly identifiable and records the significant milestones of the person's life. You add the best portrait of the deceased you can find, maybe in a collage with some images from their youth. You can also include maps right there on the box (you should include them in the slideshow too of course).

Here's how to judge your life. Imagine there was a giant scale and you could somehow put all of your activities that supported your desires on one side and all of your activities involving things such as purpose, responsibility, faith, etc. on the other. Which side of the scale would instantly slam to the floor drastically out weighing the other?

First, let us look at death. I know it is an unpleasant subject. But unless you look death in the eye and deny its power over you, it will destroy meaning and happiness. Persons have been investigating Near Death Experiences (NDE) for many decades.



What could death teach you? Perhaps how to die to the ego-self and instead live unto your higher self; how to die to clock time and instead live in the timeless now; or, how to die to the life you live and instead live the life you love.
