He is also a former Navy navigator. Thomson's works have appeared in many literary journals, including Agni.
Biography
James Whitfield Thomson is a former sales executive and U.S. Navy navigator who lives in Natick, Massachusetts. He is a member of the Andre Dubus writers' workshop. His novels have been praised for their morality, realism, and unique style. He has written a memoir as well as several short stories and novels.
Published works
James Whitfield Thomson is an author of many published works. He grew up in the North Side of Pittsburgh and was a member of Andre Dubus's writers' workshop. He attended Harvard College on a scholarship and earned a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He then joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. His work has appeared in literary magazines and won grants from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts.
