The King of All Monsters
Godzilla is the most popular kaiju in history, and has entertained viewers for over 65 decades. Although he's changed many times since his initial appearance in 1954 (sometimes even changing his name), there are some things that remain constant about Godzilla.

godzillaplush has had many different forms over the years, but his core design is what has defined him as a monster. He is unique because of his dorsal plate design. It's also why he looks so distinctive when he rises from water.

His dorsal plate is slightly more maple-leaf-shaped than the rest. It's also sharper and more pointed. These characteristics give the design a more aggressive and jagged look when he rises from water.

His tail is significantly longer than his body. MonsterVerse Godzilla has a much larger body than the Japanese version. It measures in at 550 feet long, making him the largest ever onscreen Godzilla.

Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla reboot breathed new life in the franchise. With his huge-scale portrayal of the character, he used computer-generated muscles simulation and rendering. This new technology allowed Edwards to make Godzilla appear more lifelike, which in turn made the film stand out against its rivals.

Edwards' Godzilla was 35 feet tall. It was modeled using muscle simulation layers and skin folds which moved with the monster. This process, called occlusion modelling, took more eight months.

He also had his head enlarged and made more complicated than the one he used in his earlier films. He has an extended snout with two nostrils, which flare up when it's time to exhale atomic air. His eyes stand out more than in any of his previous films.

He has an orange coloration all throughout his Fire Godzilla form and orange markings across his entire body. The blue tint on his dorsal plats runs from the tip of his tail to the top and ends at the top of his neck.

He also has a change in his claw design. They are now black instead of white and have a crocodilian look to them. These features are meant as a nod toward Godzilla, a reptilian-lizard. Therefore they aren’t intended to be as precise or delicate than his claws on the other versions.

Some minor changes have been made to the lizard's appearance, including his wing tips becoming squarer and his eyes becoming darker in color. These changes are made to make the lizard more representative of his Japanese roots. They also help to maintain consistency in his design between his different incarnations.
