Thinking about our deaths is not something we typically do. We tend to live life as we go. But we have to admit that one day our life will end and we will be leaving people we care about when that happen. With this knowledge it would be best to have everything ready once we reach the end of our earthly journey. This is when we consider having prearranged funeral plans to relieve our love ones of the task of contacting a funeral home, buying the casket and what cemetery we are going to be buried.



A funeral planner may be as simple as a sheet of paper noting questions of specifics on the funeral service and burial. You can also employ a professional who can walk you through exactly what needs to be done for the service, generally, the funeral director will handle this task. It is even possible to plan for a death ahead of time. funeral programs understand that this is a good way to save some money as well.

Cross: This is a foam based cross shaped that is covered in flowers, foliage, moss, ribbon or satin. These will usually have a flower swag accenting the middle of the cross. These are very formal and are to be sent to either the funeral home or the church where the services will be held. You can also get these in other shapes, such as a heart or a pillow.

You might also be asked to deliver the eulogy. A eulogy is a more formal funeral speech that gives an overview of the person's life, qualities and accomplishments. Again, make sure you know how long you're expected to speak at the funeral, and how many other people will be speaking. It's helpful to sit down with the family, in particular, to gather more information to share.

My relationship waned for two reasons: apathy and fear. The apathy was inexcusable, born from that arrogance of early adulthood where everything I was doing was too important to reschedule in order to take the time to travel to visit her. Heck, that apathy started in college, even before my grandfather died.


Maybe you have had to plan a funeral for a loved one in the past, then you would have an indication of what is involved in the planning process. If funeral programs had planned their own funeral then you would have been more at ease, knowing for sure what they wanted to include.

As we approach death, our personal relationships with life and death will set the stage of our acceptance of the new life that awaits us and our loved ones. Fear and unfinished business are two big factors in determining how much resistance we put into meeting death.
