What we Do in the Shadows Pillows
The show isn’t afraid to step outside its comfort zone. We do what we can in the shadows to be creative and always ready to think of new ideas. This is what has made this season so hilarious. "Go Flip Yourself", a great example, is another.
Episode 5 begins in which the Vampiric Council is arguing over who sits on the throne. While they wait for their turn, Colin Robinson arrives to watch hockey on ice and then presents a murder mystery puzzle game that draws them all in. When Sean brings out his Guy Pillow (a product he had invested in through a pyramid scheme), things quickly go south. Sean must confront his friends and admit that no one wants to buy it.
A neighbor calls to let Sean know that Sean bought a large number of pillows in his garage and hasn’t sold them. whatwedointheshadowsmerch was then taken to small claims court. Laszlo offers assistance in defending his friend -- a task he's not attempted in human court since more than 300years.
Laszlo is unable to behave appropriately when he's called to the stand. His buddy loses his case. The episode ends with Derek, dressed in daywalker fashion, going door-to door selling pillows of his friend through hypnotism.
Simon the Devil is proof that What We do in the Shadows does not hesitate to get creative with its recurring antagonists. Instead of his previous appearances where he threatened or begged Laszlo to give him Laszlo the witch-skin, he's back to do something devious.
