Sepultura, a Brazilian thrash band founded in 1984, has 15 studio albums and numerous live shows. They are a major export of music from Brazil and are well-known for their innovative sonic sound.
Their best albums are full of dissonant melodies and epic riffs. They also have an energetic attitude that is as refreshing today as when they first appeared on the scene. Their new album, Against is an ambitious attempt at capturing the energy and intensity of their previous work while also exploring new musical territory.
The album's production is one of its most memorable features. Sepultura was led by Andy Wallace. They enlisted the assistance of some of the most innovative engineers in the industry to create an audio experience that blends old-school rawness and modern digital wizardry.
This album has a few standout tracks, including "Chaos A.D." as well as the album's title song. The former is a powerful example of the band's ability to mix a heavy guitar line and a light touch pyrotechnics. While the former shows the group's technical prowess as Andreas Kisser, guitarist, is at his most complex solo yet.
Despite not being the greatest selling album of all time, Against remains the most significant release in the band’s history. The group was introduced to a new world by combining punk, rock, d-beat and other elements from their earlier eras into a captivating brew that was reminiscent in its musical mashup of Discharge and Dead Kennedys.
It also features some of the most impressive guitar work in the entire album, featuring Max Cavalera's tremolo playing and the band's trademark speedy thrash chops.
