The Snoopy blanket is the most well-known blanket of the Peanuts cartoon series, and the character who is the title, Charlie Brown, has many reasons to use it. The blanket is the one keeps him warm and secure, particularly in cold weather. He also uses it to defend himself against Violet's abuse. Charlie Brown uses it in one episode to defend himself from Violet. He takes a sip of it.


Snoopy often tries to take the blanket away from Linus however, Linus always gets the blanket back, regardless of his attempts to get it. This explains the fact that Snoopy did return the blanket one time, and that was the time Linus was digging around in the area to locate it.

Frieda is a standard Peanuts character in the Peanuts series. The first time she appeared was in the year 1961 and continued to show up throughout the 1960s. As she got older her appearances waned. The last time she spoke was in a strip from March 20, 1975. After that she continued to appear in Peanuts specials and Saturday morning cartoons. She was also mentioned in the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show's theme song.


Frieda's mom gave her a Faron cat after she complained that Snoopy was too smug for her tastes. She hoped that Faron, a seemingly boneless cat, would be able to take Snoopy down. She carried Faron around all the time with her draped over her arms. Faron was not well-liked by the other kids in her community, so she sought out people to carry him.


Linus is being taunted by Rerun about his security blanket behavior


Rerun often is a constant taunt to Linus about his habit. Linus insists that he takes this habit. Linus has only been given it back one time by Snoopy. He was in search of it in his neighborhood.


The blanket's goal is to make Linus feel comfortable. Snoopy also tries to steal Linus' supper dish and blanket. Charlie Brown mocks Linus for instilling Sally the habit. Later, Sally tells Linus she would rather not have it. But Linus doesn't care. Sally eventually yanks it away.


The practice of looking at Linus' blanket is a familiar one for many children. The film made the practice well-known and Snoopy was made manager of the Peanuts baseball club. Snoopy even gifted his blanket to his grandmother as well as himself. Linus, Schroeder and Lucy all grew up with the blanket as a classic image of their childhood.
