Kings of Leon Backpack Review
The brand new Kings of Leon album, Backpack signals a shift in their sound. Their shaggy Southern rock boogie was straightforward and untrained before. But now it's more spirited and confident. Since their inception, Kings of Leon have been touring around the world growing a massive and loyal audience. Their success has been built on their ability to put on show in the arena that is awe-inspiring to the crowd, and they're hardly lacking in charisma for such a stalwart of their genre.


The quartet of gracefully handsome brothers and their cousin Nathan are a force on stage that's so powerful, it fills the air with captivating energy. They've topped the charts in their own country, and are headlining major European events, showing all audiences that they're an entity to reckon with.



The band's first albums were packed with ferocious tunes, boisterous lyrics, and an ear that could be described as "Strokes meets Skynyrd." However there were many songs that on those albums were lengthy and dense. It was difficult to imagine Kings of Leon being able to match that level in the near future.


They're still the top in their field but they're also the best at creating huge, unforgettable songs that are fun to listen to live. Their past failures have taught them a lesson and they're now looking inwards instead of outwards.


The group's eighth studio album When You See Yourself is far more humble than their earlier albums. Kings of Leon Fridgemagnet may sound a bit less strained than it did in the past, however, it's still remarkable as it is romantic and full of sorrow at one point, but electric and fearless at the other.


The album is that is about moving on. It doesn't mean that they've completely discarded their past - the song "Mary" is an update of an old tune that has been in the repertoire of the band for a long time. It also includes Matthew Followill as bassist.


He's a friendly rebel, but also an empathetic man. This is evident in a variety of tracks. He is asking himself on "Time in Disguise" if this is the world he belongs to. Despite his increased content however, it's evident that he has plenty of self doubts and regrets. Kings of Leon Wall Clock that plagued his past when he first came to fame.


The love letter from Caleb 'Fairytale' includes a love song which he sings about Lily Aldridge, his wife, as well as their two kids. "I'll love You 'Til The Day's Over" is the song. It's an appropriate tribute to a couple who have been together for a lifetime.


Kings of Leon have released their finest album in time. They're a band you don't want to miss and you don't want to witness them fade away. They're constantly improving and this is a fantastic occasion to witness them at their finest.
