Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall of 629 units of CORTRAK*2 Entral Access System, a feeding tube device that has been connected to numerous injuries and deaths.
The recall devices were distributed on April 1st from 2016 to January 1, 2022. https://www.hcplive.com/view/fda-issues-letter-to-health-care-providers-about-pneumothorax-events Avanos Medical feeding tube The devices are utilized by healthcare professionals to place feeding tubes into stomachs or in the intestines.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system Avanos Medical Nasogastric tubes, also known as Nasoenteric tubes, that were improperly placed on the market have led to 23 deaths and 60 injury reports since the year 2015.
The recall is being used to change the label of the device, which will instruct users to confirm that the tube has been properly set up prior to feeding.
