อัตราส่วน
ในงาน ออกแบบ ภายในนิยมใช้อัตราส่วน 1:50 รวมทั้ง 1:100 สำหรับในการเขียนแผนผังพื้นอาคารอาศัยอยู่ ดังนี้จำเป็นต้องดูให้พอเหมาะกับหน้ากระดาษด้วย โดยทั่วไปถ้าหากอาคารขนาดเล็กใช้อัตราส่วน 1:50 ถ้าอาคารขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นใช้อัตราส่วน 1:100 และถ้าเกิดตึกมีขนาดใหญ่มาก ตัวอย่างเช่น แผนผังพื้นของโรงงานขนาดใหญ่ ใช้อัตราส่วน 1:200 ได้ และเมื่อใช้มาตราส่วน 1:50 กับแผนผังพื้น ก็ควรที่จะใช้มาตราส่วน 1:50 กับแบบอื่นๆทั้งตึกด้วย
โดยแบ่งอัตราส่วนที่ใช้ในลัษณะของการวาดแบบออกเป็น 3 ประเภท ดังต่อไปนี้
มาตราส่วนจริง ขนาดของชิ้นงานที่วาดแบบจะมีขนาดเท่าของแท้ สัญลกัษณ์ 1 : 1
มาตรราส่วนย่อ ขนาดของแบบงานจะย่อเล็กลงตามสมควร สัญลกัษณ์ 1 : 50
อัตราส่วนขยาย ขนาดของแบบงานจะขยายใหญ่มากยิ่งกว่า แบบจริงที่ระบุ สัญลกัษณ์ 2 : 1
เส้น
ต้องพิจารณาถึงความสม่ำเสมอของเส้น น้ำหนัก หรือความครึ้มของเส้นที่ใช้เฉพาะงาน และคุณภาพของเส้น
ความครึ้มของเส้น เส้นที่เขียนในแบบควรมีความครึ้มแตกต่างกันตามความหมายโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งของเส้นนั้นดังเช่นว่า เส้นหนามาก ควรใช้แสดงเป็นเส้นขอบนอกของรูปตัด เส้นบางใช้เขียนเส้นมิติ ฯลฯ
จำพวกของเส้นมีดังนี้ เส้นบาง เส้นดก เส้นหนามาก ความครึ้มของเส้นที่ใช้มีขนาด 0.13, 0.18, 0.25, 0.35,
0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 1.4 และ 2.0 มม.
ความหนาของเส้นที่ใช้ในแต่ละแบบใช้ทั้ง 3 ขนาดตามอัตราส่วน 1:2:4 อาทิเช่น เส้นบาง ใช้ขนาดเส้น 0.13 มิลลิเมตร เส้นหนา ใช้ขนาดเส้น 0.25 มิลลิเมตร เส้นหนามาก ใช้ขนาดเส้น 0.5 ไม่ลลิเมต
หรือหากเป็นรูปที่มายี่ห้อส่วนเพิ่มเติมใหญ่ขึ้นเป็น 1:20 ขนาดของเส้นที่ใช้ก็บางทีอาจใหญ่ขึ้นทั้งยัง 3 ขนาด ตัวอย่างเช่น ขนาด 0.18 มิลลิเมตร ขนาด 0.35 มม. รวมทั้งขนาด 0.7 มม. ฯลฯ
ถ้าใช้ดินสอ เส้นบางบางครั้งอาจจะใช้เกรด H เส้นครึ้มใช้ HB รวมทั้งเส้นหนามากใช้ B เมื่อเขียนบนกระดาษวาดเขียน เป็นต้น
