O PIB (O Produto Interno Bruto) é uma soma de informações adquirida pelo IBGE Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística e outros órgãos. Podendo fazer a divulgação trimestralmente e ainda faz uma perspectiva de crescimento do ano seguinte.
Setor primário: Compreende as atividades econômicas relacionadas à produção de bens agrícolas, pecuários, florestais e pesqueiros. No Brasil, este setor tem uma participação relativamente pequena no PIB, correspondendo a cerca de 5% a 6% do total.
Setor secundário: Engloba as atividades econômicas relacionadas à produção industrial e à construção civil. No Brasil, este setor tem uma participação significativa no PIB, correspondendo a cerca de 20% a 25% do total.
Setor terciário: Compreende as atividades econômicas relacionadas à prestação de serviços, como comércio, transporte, comunicação, finanças, saúde, educação, entre outros. Este setor é o mais importante para a economia brasileira, correspondendo a cerca de 70% a 75% do total do PIB
Cabe ressaltar que o PIB não corresponde a um estoque de riquezas, mas sim ao fluxo de bens e serviços finais produzidos em um ano.
Nos últimos 20 anos , o Brasil vivenciou períodos de bons e ótimos desempenhos econômicos, exceto em 2009, 2015, 2016 e 2020, anos em que o crescimento econômico foi negativo.
