Day 1,
"The Door"

"Nicoll Smith, your mother has died to stage 4 cancer. We are sorry to share this information to you. We wish you the best." the person announced. "Okay. Thank you. Goodbye." Nicoll softly said ending the call with no emotion in their face or voice. "Hey, you good?" said Achillies mincing some apples. Nicoll cleared their throat. "Yeah, just a scam call." He ended with a soft smile. "Oh okay, you just looked deep in thought." Achillies said with an apple in his hand. The doorbell rang with a soft jingle. "Can you go get the door for me Nicoll? It's Zeke." Achillies said washing the apple he held in his hand. Nicoll opened the door revealing Zeke hold some roses. "Hey N, how are you?" Zeke said with a genuine smile. "Eh, could be better." Nicoll said with a sigh. "I agree, so may I come in?" Zeke said with a sheepish chuckle. Nicoll opened the door letting Zeke walk through as he locked it, Zeke gave the roses to Achillies announcing that it was from Achillies' son Techno and his boyfriend Killies. "Oh! How sweet of them." Achillies said excitedly smelling the flowers. Nicoll sat on Achillies' soft couch and played solitaire on his phone. "So, what are you making Ac?" Zeke said leaning over the counter. "Apple cobbler." Achillies said putting the apple cobbler in the oven. "Oo, that sound delicious." Zeke said with a lit-up smile. "It is." Achillies said almost burning his hand on the oven. Zeke gave Achillies one of his earbuds and connected them to his phone and played their playlist. Nicoll only watched as if he was a ghost. Zeke and Achillies sat next to Nicoll with Zeke in the middle and Achillies and Nicoll on the outside. Zeke didn't say anything but they both could tell that Zeke liked being in the middle.
