滿 6 個月到 16 歲孩童可使用含氟製品，如氟錠、含氟漱口水、含氟牙膏，目前健保有給付 6 歲以下孩童一年兩次的塗氟。 塗完氟後，30 分鐘內不可喝水、吃東西、漱口，以免降低效果。 含氟製品也忌與牛奶混著吃，以免氟與鈣結合而影響氟的吸收。 可以請父母退出診療室，可以養成小孩的獨立性，同時讓他覺得自己長大被尊重。
小朋友哭鬧若用約束方式來進行治療，速度雖快，但很有可能造成小朋友看牙陰影，甚至可能會影響到成年時期。 恆牙是第二副牙齒，最先萌發的是在六歲時的第一大臼齒，大約在十二歲時萌發第二大臼齒，因此六歲到十二歲是孩子的換牙階段。
同時提供兒童及父母口腔衛生知識之教育及兒童口腔疾病之預防，如：防蛀封劑、全口塗氟。 對於極度不合作無法於門診治療者或是身心障礙不便於門診治療者（如：腦性麻痺、自閉症、智障者），亦提供全身麻醉之牙科治療。 贋復假牙科提供的治療包括口內不良補綴移除、固定式假牙、部分活動式假牙、全口活動式假牙、人工植牙贋復假牙、全口美觀改善及咬合功能重建。

多數寶寶在長牙的時候，長牙處會有红、腫、熱、痛的局部反應，此外長牙時牙床容易感到不舒服，有些幼兒甚至會有輕微發燒、腹瀉或是牙床有血腫，每個寶寶出現的症状不同，有的小孩在長牙時甚至不會有感覺。 術後需間隔 2 小時才可進食，可先飲用少量溫開水後無不適，才可喝飲料， 爾後無不適再進行清淡食物，待進食穩定後給予正常飲食。
