Are You A Servant Leader Or A Leadership Warrior?

Ensure that your advantages and requirements are basically the same for everyone that you ask to the group. Perceptions of playing favorites can cause jealousy and trigger a cancer in the group.

Do not persist. Lots of people believe that successful leaders are extroverted. They believe that successful communicators talk more which in order to influence others, you need to be able to talk well. In other words, if someone is quiet, he or she can not be an effective leader. This is a myth.

Slow down if you desire to speed up. "I want it done, and I desire it done now. Don't speak to me about risks or issues or anything else that sounds like negativeness. Just do it!" The problem with this is that we'll end up tripping over ourselves. Urgency is excellent, rushing is bad. As counterproductive as it might feel, a little in advance preparation and analysis will get things done much faster. You will find concerns that could have thwarted you and have the ability to deal with them before they use up much time. You'll understand what your major threats are and have a plan to handle them before they become time-sucking, soul-deflating crises. When they see you doing some preparation for this job or change, the individuals around you will take you seriously.

If you were required to honestly address NO to either of those questions, you have some work to do and you are probably not a leadership warrior yet! You might be a good person and you may even be a servant leader however you are not a warrior and your transformation has most likely not started. Rather, you are just getting by.you remain in survival mode!
