Lilo und Stitch Stitch Mercch

Hoodies

Your first step in sewing a hoodie for you is to cut the pieces. This is simple if an old hoodie can be used as a guide.

As a template, you can also use a T-shirt. Be sure to have enough fabric for the cut, and don’t cut right along the fold.

Next, sew both the side seams & sleeve seams one-by-one. Make sure stitchmerch press the seam allowances.

Next, attach the sleeves and jacket to the hem band and cuffs. This can be done by splitting the hem band and sleeve-cuff into four equal parts.

Beginning at the sleeve edge, and moving up to the top, pin the sleeves' cuffs together, matching the notches. You can adjust the fit of your cuffs by stretching them as needed.

Next, position the brim pieces on their right sides and sew them together with a 3/8 inch seam allowance. Allow a 3" opening at the top.

Once your hat is formed, use a knitting needle and a knife to remove any gaps in the Brim.

After you are happy with the shape, topstitch around the brim. This will add decoration and strengthen the seams.
