Many of you continue to be directly impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle and our thoughts are with you and your whānau.

New major event in Eos
As part of our continued support efforts, we will be adding Cyclone Gabrielle as a Major Event within Eos. This will allow us to record and easily identify claims related to Cyclone Gabrielle so we can target and tailor our support.

The Cyclone Gabrielle selections will appear at the beginning of the list. The White Island Eruption major event selections will move from the top of the list and be placed in alphabetical order within the Major Event selection list.

When to use
Use the Cyclone Gabrielle major event classification for new claims from 20/02/2023.

Lodgement and Cover Assessors will do this at the point of registration. Recovery teams will add this if it is identified at point of Welcome conversation that the injury has been caused by Cyclone Gabrielle.

Using #cyclonegabrielle
As noted in my email on Friday 17/02/23:
If you have a client impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle, please label all Eos tasks on the claim and those that you are transferring internally with #cyclonegabrielle.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This is in addition to the below indicator and also for clients who may not have had an injury caused by the cyclone, but their injury is being impacted by the cyclone. This means we can prioritise our most vulnerable clients and easily identify these claims across our system and teams.

Cyclone Gabrielle
Add indicator for any injury that is as a result of the cyclone or related supporting activities. Some examples include:
• Injured in landfall or slip
• Twisted ankle escaping rising flood water
• Hurt shoulder picking up/cleaning up debris from cyclone Gabrielle.

Who can action these requests:

Those with current access to make the changes are people with these user types in Eos • Cover Assessor
• Cover Assessor Persona
• Specialist Cover Assessor Persona
• Work Injury Inquiry
Additional user types that will be given access to make changes in Eos from 20 February • Customer Experience Representative
• Lodgement Administrator
• NGCM Recovery Assistant/Coordinator
• NGCM Recovery Partner
• Treatment & Support Assessor
• NGCM Recovery Leader
If you do not have access to make the changes, please talk to your Team Leader to either reassign claim or submit ICT request to gain the secured action.

What you need to do when a claim is identified as related to Cyclone Gabrielle:

During the registration process of a claim
In Part B: Accident and Employment Details select the relevant option in the Major Event selection.


If identified after the claim is accepted
From the Injury tab within a Claim navigate to the Accident Subtab and down to the Major Event Details section. On the right select Edit. Choose the appropriate option from the Major Event drop down list. Enter a Change Reason. Select OK.
