What is the difference between bankroll management and money management?
I'm sure that you have heard comments like "if you don't have great financial management skills, then you simply won't be successful', or what you can make money management more important than the selection strategy used'; or even 'you won't win if you don't have good skills in managing money'.
There will always be a group of punters bleating about the virtues of money management. These punters believe that this magical term "money management" is a saviour, which will turn their otherwise unprofitable approach magically into a highly profitable one, by changing the way they stake. This is just as likely as Jess going on a night out with Nicole Kidman.

Now , I realize that I may be off-guard somewhat here, especially in case you've been deceived by the people who revere these two phrases. As with everything else in this article this is simply an opinion and you are free of course to ignore completely what I have to say.
While I'm sure I shouldn't feel this strongly but I can assure that these words trigger me to think very bad thoughts.

What is the fuss all about? What's the difference between money management and the management of your bankroll?

In my opinion is the method of earning money by gambling. It's done with a staking strategy. As we all know, it doesn't matter which game we play (horse racing as well as sports betting, craps roulette etc) when we bet blindly, don't make a mistake the odds are against us. That is to say, that if we bet on number 7 on a roulette wheel for a long enough period then eventually the casino will walk away losing our cash. We might get lucky in the short-term however the reality will be set in a half reasonable time period.

It is impossible to beat these games if you just shift the stakes per race/bet/spin/hand. This is a lose-lose strategy. virtual reality means that you're trying to control your money to win the game. Playing a poor game, but trying to win simply by staking.

It is obvious that we can make the majority of gambling lucrative if we apply our knowledge and skills. (Some games are easier to beat than others).

The management of your bankroll is the ultimate decision about what to put your money on once you have chosen the most profitable strategy.
If you're winning that you should to consider ways to stake your money, NOT after you have proven that you are able to turn profits, by following a specific strategy betting level stakes that is betting the same amount each bet.

Essentially, that is the difference. Money management is employed by gamblers who try to win a game by staking. It may be great entertainment, do not get me wrong however, it's not great for your wallet.

play games for real money is a bit ignorant and arrogant of me to fail to point out that this whole idea of staking is quiet contentious. There a millions upon millions of gamblers who swear (maybe perhaps even the vast majority of punters) that it is possible to transform a losing strategy into profit-making one with clever money management'. If that's the case and you believe it, then don't let me stop you. virtual reality can do is to continue with whatever is successful for them. Simply put, if discover that your stake strategy is able to work for you take it to the next level and keep working.

On the other hand I like using methods that have been proven to work for bankroll management. What you can do to make the most of a profitable approach to managing your bankroll is all about, not how to determine an effective strategy by the staking. There is no profitable way to stake your selections in the absence of a profitable strategy. This is not an notion or a guess - it's a decade-old scientifically proven fact!

It is their responsibility to decide if they are willing to pay attention to the research that has proven to work , or prefer to ignore the evidence and claim it does not work (as many punters have graciously informed me).

The question is whether it is possible to beat an invincible game by simply staking the money, how would casinos be capable of being around? Casino games, such as, roulette have much lower house margins, than say, the horse races, sports betting or keno. (For example, 2.7% house advantage on roulette, compared to 15% - 25% on horse racing, or 5% - 10% on sports betting.) If it was possible then one would think that the casinos would be the first to be cleaned. Wouldn't you?
However, I can assure that when a person's livelihood is dependent on these kinds of decisions, I feel more confident in trusting mathematically-proven methods to achieve success, even if they are all 'academic garbage', than relying on hunches or hot streaks. My experience is that hunches and hot streaks do not put the food on the table.

Now in a tournament sense this rule doesn't apply. Since the player is playing against another player and is therefore an only exception of the general rule. In this case, it could be beneficial to utilize an approach to staking which can differ based on the opponent's position. When playing a tournament, like a casino roulette or blackjack tournament, playing in a calm and steady way will more often than not, result in you maintaining, or even increasing, your bankroll to some extent. To win these tournaments, you need to adopt a slightly more aggressive strategy to beat the other players.

In the end, if money management is your passion and you believe that games like roulette can be won through staking, you're more likely to be accepted in any casino.
