Growing up, I never felt like I belonged in this world. I was always the odd one out, the black sheep. My parents never paid much attention to me and I always felt like I was invisible. As I got older, I started acting out and getting into trouble. I was angry all the time and I had no idea why. It wasn't until I was in my early twenties that I found out that my parents had been neglecting me my whole life. They were both suffering from mental health issues and they weren't able to take care of me the way I needed. As a result, I suffered from depression and anxiety. I had a hard time trusting people and I felt like I was always on the outside looking in. It took a long time for me to get help, but I'm finally in a better place now. I'm grateful for the people who have helped me along the way. It definitely was not easy accomplishing such a milestone, but I'm so much happier now that I'm doing better, mentally and physically. I sometimes worry about my parents, and what they had been going through in the past, but I decided a long time ago that it would be the better for the both of us that we go to family therapy sessions three times a week.
