The spiritual teaching embodied in this story about the widow is for me profound, and not only puts a capital G in the Good News but also brings a real hope to us as we become aware of our true destiny as the beloved children of God. This story emphatically states that Jesus is the Son of God, and is the Resurrection and the Life; that only God has the answer to the human reality of death; and that we now have a real and vital hope for true healing and restoration in the future, and can begin to put death in its place.

No matter how you view your pet, when that pet dies it will leave you with a profound sense of loss and sadness. death is hard for even the most rational person to deal with, but when the death is your pet, you may lose your ability to think rationally. Most people feel that their pets are members of their families and their whole family grieves when the pet dies.

And the next day the sun rose and life went on. I did not die of disappointment. In fact, I felt much better after getting some rest. I slowly began to realize that, although that had been an exciting opportunity, there would be others that would come along. Nothing lasts forever not even disappointment. I wasn't told why the company changed their minds and went with someone else, but in the long run it doesn't matter. Everything works out just the way it is suppose to.

Just do whatever you want. Whatever it is that brings you comfort and peace, now is the time to do it. Find comfort in whatever brings you peace. The healing process goes how it goes. Sometimes it's short, sometimes it's a bit longer. Time will take care of the healing as long as you take care of yourself.
