You'll first have to sew up the main body of your bag. Place the zipper/sidepanel, making sure that it is in the correct place. Before you go any further, backstitch around each edge of the pocket. This is done by starting at the smallest seam.

Next, make a small pouch on the bag's front. Then, ensure that the pocket is in the center. Next, fold the fabric in 1/4 of an inch. Topstitch the pockets to the bag.
