Forge is an open-source and free mod API that your favorite mods utilize!

Installing Forge
Go to the Forge website and select the Minecraft version you wish to get Forge for from the list.
You can download the installer for the Recommended Build or the latest build from there. The most recent builds could include more features, but they could be less stable. The installer will attempt installing Forge in your vanilla launcher environment. Once it has been installed it is possible to create a new profile using the latest version and launch the game.
