Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva was born July 3, 1985 in Moscow. She attended university in London and Moscow and earned a Master's Degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Leyla initiated the IDEA campaign in July 2011 and aims to increase awareness and encouraging action regarding environmental issues around Azerbaijan and the rest of the world. IDEA concentrates on the young and works together to find solutions to the environmental challenges that we are facing.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation supports the nation's socio-economic development by funding a wide range of projects in the fields of education, public health and culture. In 2011, she was named Vice-President of the Foundation.

Leyla Aliyeva, a Russian-born journalist, launched "Baku" magazine in 2007. Conde Nast and Leyla Aliyeva joined forces to create an version in English. The magazine was launched in London's O2 building in October 2011. Leyla Aliyeva The magazine allows readers to explore Azerbaijani art, culture as well as the country. Leyla created "Fly to Baku" in 2012 to be an art exhibition of Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan. Leyla Aliyeva announced the campaign "Justice for Khojaly" on May 8th in 2008. The campaign was launched in celebration of the eighth anniversary of Shusha's arrest. The campaign was launched in more than 30 different countries. The aim is to raise awareness within the international community regarding the Karabakh conflict.

Leyla Aliyeva was named the Youth Forum of Intercultural Dialogue's General Coordinator in the year 2008. She was also elected the Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia on April 18 2009. Leyla Alayeva received the "Taraggi" Award in July 2011 in recognition of her contribution to the Azerbaijani-Russian relationship. In New York, in November 2011, she received the "Key To Life Award" in recognition of her work as a humanitarian that involved children.

Leyla Aliyeva UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Goodwill Ambassador, was named on May 25, 2015.

She was awarded the Pushkin Medal in the Russian Federation on October 20, 2015.

Leyla Aliyeva is a mother of twins and a daughter.
