America's Next Terrific Writer

Pahl not just explores the oft-taboo subject of breast cancer with literary vitality, but he also savor it, astutely recording the female feelings attached to such a dreadful experience. The chemistry between his two main characters borders on the divine, as we ride along upon a in some cases heartbreaking but constantly lovely chariot through Nicky and Mia's heavenly and sensuous yet attempting world.

While Indie Nation Magazine costs the book as "... the very best romance you'll read this year," I plead to differ, slightly; I'll argue that it might be the very best love story you ever read. Bee Balms courageously explores a subject today's "socially conscious" authors won't go near, and it treats the subject with grace, self-respect, depth, and, yes, even capitivating sensuality.

Pahl is a terrific example of why some of America's finest writers now demand writing for independent presses: A major publishing home would only shackle his amusing and rich writing design and subdue his "outside-the-box" storytelling.
