Begin by adding equal amounts of baking soda to your bucket. Use your scrub brush to apply the grout solution to the lines. Be sure to reach all the corners and crevices. You can increase the amount of baking soda in the mixture if the grout is filthy. Use elbow grease to scrub the grout lines.

Next, give the floor a thorough rinse with clean water to eliminate all of the baking soda residues. You can use either a mop, or a bucket of clean water for this step.

If your grout lines are still looking dingy, you can use a mixture of equal amounts white vinegar and water. Simply combine the solution in a bucket, use a scrub brush to apply it to the grout lines, and wait 5 to 10 minutes. After that, thoroughly rinse the floor with clean water.

Stone surfaces can be cleaned in the same way, but avoid acidic cleaners or scrub brushes as they could cause damage. You can clean stone surfaces with warm water and dish soap, but you should verify the manufacturer's instructions to determine the exact type of stone.

To keep your freshly cleaned grout lines free of dirt and stains after cleaning is complete, it's a good idea to seal them using grout sealant. Apply a thin layer of glue to the grout lines. Let it sit for the recommended time and then clean up any excess.
