Thomas Adewumi University, Oko Kwara State (TAU) has climbed 112 places to emerge among the top 100 higher institutions in Nigeria according to the just published January 2023 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. In this Special 20th Anniversary Edition of the Ranking, TAU maintains its premier place as the 1st among the 20 universities that were established in 2021 and ranks 11th out of all the 111 private universities in Nigeria. Taking a huge leap from 173rd place last year, TAU now ranks 61st in Nigeria and 4th out of the 9 universities in Kwara State.
“This is one of the proudest moments for us!” said the Vice-Chancellor of TAU, Professor Francisca Oladipo, FNCS. “In Best Medical School in Nigeria than two years of our establishment, we have been able to compete globally and nationally with institutions that are not only older than us but also possess more resources than we do”.
This ranking reaffirms the fact that the university is living up to its name as one of Africa’s fastest-growing STEMi ecosystems, providing strong and relevant academic programmes in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, and Innovations. It represents a tribute to the hardworking staff and students at the university who are not afraid to break new ground. We are grateful for the support of our Chancellor, the Board of Trustees, and Governing Council as well as the other administrative arms of the university.
