Period 1.1
1a - Out of Africa is a known theory in which Humanoids arise from Africa and began to be nomadic and move around to find resources such as food, water, or shelter.
1b - Early human's technologies included fire, tools made of rocks and sticks, (sometimes even bones.)
1c - These groups of humans were nomadic and were able to travel from place to place to search and find resources. This helped them have enough resources to survive, always moving, always hunting.
Period 1.2
2a - I believe that the most important long term effect of the Neolitic Revolution includes how small societies were the birthplace of the now famous river valley civilizations.
2b - I believe that the Neolithic Revolution mainly started because societies wanted a long term source of food that could supply for a bigger population growth, instead of having to hunt and move around for food.
2c - The domestication of animals helped pastoralism persist and they developed animal husbrandry. (CIV 5 HELPS)
2d - The various crops and animals included wild dogs, cows, pigs, wheats, corn, and berries
2e - A barter system was introduced as were specialized jobs, and people would trade for what they need.
2f- I believe that the environmental effects of the Neolithic Revolution included permanent homes, farmland, and a nearby fresh water source.
2g - Pastoralism focused more on hunting and gathering, while agricultural communities needed more fertile soil.
2h - Pastoralism and Agriculture added more to the food supply which allowed for larger towns and more of a population to manage.
2i - Relates back to my 2h answer, larger populations!
2j - IRRIGATION is where this spotlight is on, this technological innovation allowed farmers to farm crops and for people to get water from a more nearby source. (old fountains)
Period 1.3
3a - A civilization is classified as a society in which the people share a common leadership or culture. A government, specialized workers, and different social classes are defining characteristics of a civilization.
3b - Similar to previous answers, a large food source allowed for more people, which means more specialized workers, and have a more complex society.
3c - Armies were formed and religions were founded.
3d - These civilizations developed because of the rivers they were near. These rivers flooded often which helped farmers grow crops because of the already fertile soil.
3e - Thinking of the United States of America a state would probably be a self-governing body that is managed and unified when they all come together. Early leaders of states included the militaristic leaders and the religious leaders.
3f - Due to having a larger amount of food, a certain state would have more population and thus a larger army. Basically resources allowed them to conquer nearby states easily.
3g - The Mesopotamia empire, the Hammurabi's empire, The Euphrates, and The Sargon's empire
3h - Pastoral civilizations probably acted as a treasureland of resources which helped them join larger empires and said empires getting larger due to new food surplus.
3i - Culture was able to play a role because those populations had something similar, which was their culture, and people will usually stick with the people they know, so this unified populations.
3j - Early civilizations had grain houses which helped distribute food to their populations.
3k - Elites
3l - Cuneiform was made in Mesopotamia, and it had to deal with lines. Egypt had the hieroglyphics which were pictorial characters.
3m - culture had to deal with all the population as a whole while literature was only learned by the upper class and royals.
3n - Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Daoism all influenced later eras, most we still see today.
3o - The Nile river was a big trading route as was using the mediterranean river.
3p - Women were considered property, and men were the leaders. But the women's decision could influence the man's.
