Tranh Trúc Chỉ of animals, landscapes, and cultural symbols are characteristic of Truc Chi art. As part of the process of creating Truc Chi paper, bamboo fibers are soaked, cooked, washed, and pounded for a fine, durable paper that can be cut and shaped into intricate shapes.
There has been a history of Truc Chi in Vietnam for more than 1000 years. Writing and printing were also accomplished using it, and it was commonly used as window coverings and lanterns.
Globally and in Vietnam, Truc Chi art has gained popularity as a form of contemporary art. Using ancient techniques and modern design, Truc Chi artists are creating stunning works of art today.
