The mustachioed manager of AFC Richmond from the comedy series "Ted Lasso" will be featured in FIFA 23 -- and he's getting more real, according to EA Sports. Sudeikis will be available for selection as a manager in Career Mode, and players can choose to manage his AFC Richmond team across modes or create their own virtual squad.

Jason Sudeikis was the star of the new comedy about an American college football coach who goes to England to become AFC Richmond's new manager. Ted Lasso Shirts on Apple TV+ in July and is now available for streaming on the service.

AFC Richmond is a fictional English Premier League soccer team owned by Rebecca Welton, who hires Lasso as a means of revenge against her unfaithful ex-husband and to save the club. He's ridiculed for his lack of experience with the sport, but Lasso gradually wins over the team and Rebecca through his charm and humor.

On his first day at the club, Ted meets with Jamie Tartt, a talented but arrogant young striker who has been bullied by his abusive father, James. He sees a chance to redeem himself, and the two bond.

The next day, Jamie's ego is damaged when he's benched, but he and Ted rally the team to play better. They win the match despite playing well below their ability and relegation is avoided.

After the team regains its confidence, it's time for a big game. The match against Manchester City is a crucial one for both teams. Jamie's ego is crushed when Manchester City scores, but his teammates come back from the dead with an extra pass and a goal to secure the win.

As the game progresses, a player is injured, which forces Ted to bench another. He also tells Roy that he's old, but they agree to claim he's injured so that he won't be benched for his age.

Later that night, Ted invites Crimm to a dinner at an Indian restaurant he's never been to. He's skeptical of the food, but he eats it all for his good manners.

Afterward, he explains his plan to Rebecca, but she is sceptical and dismisses him. She also makes fun of his coaching style, which she doesn't like, and suggests that they try to improve the chemistry between the players.

The following week, the team loses their last match against Manchester City, which causes a major crisis for them. Ted attempts to cheer up the team, but it's not enough. When the team is in tears, Rebecca encourages them to do something crazy on the field and confuse their opponents.

The game catches on and becomes a massive hit with fans. The team earns promotion to the Premier League. However, they face an ominous threat from another team in the same division, and Ted must decide what to do. He must do the right thing, or risk losing his job and relegating the club.
