From time to time a writer occurs that needs we take notification; one that avails just the best meter, tempo, and rhythm; one that can engulf us in a story and keep us glued throughout 200 pages; one that uses a style sure to be imitated by his aspiring peers, both of his generation and generations to come.

Nelson Pahl is simply that writer.

While Indie Nation Magazine expenses the book as "... the very best love story you'll read this year," I beg to differ, slightly; I'll argue that it might be the best love story you ever checked out. Bee Balms courageously looks into a subject today's "socially conscious" authors won't go near, and it deals with the topic with grace, self-respect, depth, and, yes, even endearing sensuality.

Pahl is a fantastic example of why a few of America's best writers now demand composing for independent presses: A significant publishing home would just shackle his rich and witty composing style and suppress his "outside-the-box" storytelling.

Yet, Pahl's uncommon and stringent literary discipline-- in addition to his hand for sensual descriptive writing and well-crafted discussion-- make him one of the absolute best writers in today's fiction scene, indie lit or mainstream. Through his articulate and warm first-person story, we see, feel, hear, smell, and taste everything; we live inside his imaginary world; we are the characters.

Nelson Pahl's composing style solitarily restores my faith in today's literature. Think About Bee Balms & Burgundy an important inclusion to any A-list catalogue.
