How do you get Into Minecraft Betas

Most weeks we release early versions of Minecraft updates to test new features, smooth out wrinkles, and eliminate bugs before they are released to an even wider audience. It's a great way for players such as yourself to explore the new stuff that we're working on before it's officially released!



If the prospect of seeing new things first has you excited and you're not worried about having to deal with some bugs along the way Take a look at your preferred platform here below!



Be aware!



These versions are naturally unstable and can cause problems or become weird or bizarre.



The game may fail and the things you create might get corrupted. It's not a huge risk however, it's still a risk!



These versions don't have access to Realms or Featured Servers and are only able to play in multiplayer worlds with other players on the same version of the game.





ANDROID



Disclaimer: You need to own the original Minecraft game to test the future Minecraft features on Android.





Android offers an Beta program that you can join at anytime. You can join the Beta program to replace your current Minecraft version with the Beta version.



To join the Android Beta, find the official Minecraft application in the Google Play store. Scroll down to the "Join the Beta" section and click "Join". Take a few minutes before you start your regular Minecraft application. It could take a while but eventually, your Minecraft app will be upgraded to the beta version. If you decide later to exit the Beta, simply return to the Google Play store and scroll down to "You're a beta tester" and click "Leave". Your app will eventually return to normal Minecraft.



Additionally, you might need to activate experimental features in the game to test the most recent Minecraft features.





Windows 10 and 11



Disclaimer: To try new Minecraft features on Windows you'll require the original Minecraft video. Subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass.






Java Edition




In the Java Edition, we put out regular test versions known as Snapshots. Click the arrow next to the Play button on Minecraft's main tab to select the most current snapshot. Then click the Play button.




Bedrock Edition




In the Bedrock Edition, test versions are frequently released in Minecraft Preview. Minecraft Preview can be downloaded by clicking on the "Minecraft Preview" tab within the Minecraft Launcher, and then clicking the "Install" and "Play" buttons.





XBOX ONE



Disclaimer: To test out the new Minecraft features on Xbox you must have the digital Minecraft game. It is part of Xbox Game Pass. Preview is not available for Disc owners.





In the Bedrock Edition, test versions are released regularly in Minecraft Preview. Safe minecraft mods Find Minecraft Preview in Microsoft Store. Click Install on the page that results. To start you can now start Minecraft Preview by clicking "Play Preview".





iOS

iPhones and iPads have now got Minecraft Preview, which players can sign up for through this link and follow the steps when slots become available. We will occasionally open more slots, and we'll also remove inactive users to allow new people in.



Enter the "Create New World" or "Edit World" setting. To create a new environment go to the "Game" setting. Scroll down to "Experiments" to locate the toggle you want to activate. A pop-up window will appear asking you if you would like to activate an experimental game. Click on "Activate Experiments". If you're using an existing world it will create a second replica of your world, with "Copy ..."" added to it.

MACOS & LINUX



Disclaimer: To use the new Minecraft features on MacOS or Linux you must play the original Minecraft game.





Snapshots are the regular tests of the Java Edition. In the Minecraft Launcher, select the latest snapshot by clicking the Arrow next to the Play button on the main tab. Then then click the Play button.



To test the latest Minecraft features, you might need to activate new features.



Enter the "Create New World" setting. Click on "Data packs" to select the data pack that you would like to play. Click on "Done" and when you reach the next screen select "Create New World".
