We obviously know what cartoons are, we've seen them every where and at every age, and they represent our childhood somehow, from mikey mouse shorts to looney toons, cartoons are something that most of us enjoy at every age and they make us laugh no matter what.
the proccess of making a cartoon show is tougher than what it looks.. depending on the type of cartoon that you're making, there are many different styles of animation, There's:

stop motion: where they'd use various materials to create there frames manually by moving them inch by inch till they make a sort of movmemnt. using a whiteboard is something that i have seen a couple of times, and yes if you looked really closely you'd see that he took a picture every time he made a movment even when he draws himself.

frame by frame animation -which is personally my favorutie- is a technique where they would draw every single frame to make a motion, some people do it the old fashion way by hand drawing them, and some people look for an easier way by doing it digitally. this is very common among huge companies like Disney, Warner Bros and Cartoon Network. and it's an easy way to animate depending on the quality that you're looking for.

3d: by using the technology of 3d they make this realistic cartoon animation, fairly this is the hardest type, while frame-by-frame sometimes uses one pose for the character in a whole scene, 3d cannot do that, THEY HAVE TO KEEP MOVING, breathing, itching making faces depending on the type of conversation that they're having, Toy Story is a huge example since it's impossible that no one has ever heard about it

clay animation: they use the same technique as stop motion by moving the clay inch by inch to make a certain movemnt, this takes a lot of time and effort for it to look smooth and effortless. like the short Purple and Brown on nickelodeon or the famous director/producer Tim Burton whose known for his Stop motion animation works like The Night Before Christmas, Frankweenie, and The Corpse Bride

cut out animation: also using the same technique as stop motion but by using different types of papers, cardboard, soft, recycable to give it different textures. South Parks first appearance is a great example since it actually used cut out animation, when they realized that it was a hit they used an easier animation technique that looks like cut out animation.


and frame by frame animation which is personally my favorutie since i'm a person of detail.
earlier artists have suffered the most to make the cartoons that we see as old fashioned and somewhat boring, while the new generation of technology had it easy, although other people still go for frame by frame they still do it dgitially which is fairly far more easy, but there are a still good number of cartoon shows who go for the classic hand drawn animation that then later on get trasferred digitally, actually most famous disney movies did the entire film by hand drawing every. single. frame that they digitzed and colored, added effects and 3d factors if there is any,
