It's unlikely that Minecraft will meets its August release window on PS4 after it did not pass Sony's certification tests. ryo mail This means that it's back to the fixing board of 4J Studios, and the team will have to re-submit the game for certification before it is released.
4J has been working on fixing issues and squishing bugs throughout the month, not just on the PS4 version, but also in the coming Xbox One and Vita releases too. We've contacted the studio to confirm a delay, and if it will be limited to the PS4 version or other platforms as well. The three ports are scheduled for release this month.
Sony found some issues we need to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4:( We're fixing the issues, but we have to go through the process over again.

For the Vita version it's cross-buy with PS3 which means that those who purchased Minecraft on consoles get the handheld version for free, and new buyers can unlock the game on both PS3 and Vita. Like other ports, the asking price for grinding your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
