It took a while, but Minecraft's The Wild Update is nearly there. Mojang and Microsoft will release The Wild across all platforms on June 7 and it's as expansive as promised. Game2hub Two biomes are now available in the game including a mangrove swamp as well as the "deep darkness" that hides vicious mobs, such as Warden and Shrieker and other special resources. You can also take in a boat equipped with a chest so you won't need to take your items with you if you're crossing lakes.
The upgrade adds an "mud block" (made from water and dirt, naturally) as well as an item collector mob (the allay), and a frog which develops from Tadpoles. If it attacks magma it could even cause "froglights".
Mojang had to reconsider their expansion strategy following the launch. The initial plan was for the deep dark biome to be launched in 2021. However the biome was renamed The Wild after the developer was frustrated by the size and complexity of its two-part Caves and Cliffs Update. It is not unexpected that Minecraft intends to keep its game relevant for more than a decade, however the timeline suggests that it might be a bit eager to please.
