(NBC) A woman, severely burned as a baby, found the nurse who cared for her nearly 40 years later by posting photos on social media.

On Sept. 16, Amanda Scarpinati, of Athens, N.Y., posted photos on Facebook of a young nurse cradling her as a baby and thought it might help her identify the woman who cared for her at the Albany Medical Center in 1977.

Scarpinati said she tried to find out who the woman was 20 years ago, but was unsuccessful.

The woman was bullied because of her burns as a kid. She sometimes talked to the lady in the picture even though she didn't know the person.

12 hours after posting the picture the image went viral getting over 5,000 shares on Facebook.

24 hours after the lady had posted the picture, Angela Leary, who worked at the Albany Medical Center in 1977, sent Scarpinati a message and identified the nurse as Susan Berger.

Susan Berger lived in Cazenovia, N.Y, nearly over 800 miles from were she was.

The two ladies talked by phone on Sept. 18 and the Albany Medical Center has planned for them to meet in person on Tuesday afternoonALBANY, N.Y. — A woman who suffered severe burns as an infant is finally getting a chance to thank the hospital nurse who cared for her, thanks to a social media posting that revealed the identity of the nurse in 38-year-old photos.

(USA Today) Amanda Scarpinati says she always treasured photos of her as a baby in a young nurse's arms. The pictures were published in Albany Medical Center's 1977 annual report without names. The black-and-white photos shot by photographer Carl Howard have a beatific, "Madonna and Child" quality."

She tried to find out the nurse's name that cared for her on the tarrible day.

The lady posted this photo it went viral getting over 5,000 shares on Facebook and over 4,000 likes. After 12 hours or so she finally got a lead.

Angela Leary, a retired nurse at Albany Medical Center, had sent Scarpinati a message saying the nurse in the photo is Susan Berger, who had moved to the Syracuse area years ago.

Scarpinati was 3 months old when she was injured. She had been lying on a couch with a steam vaporizer on the floor beside her when she rolled off onto the boiling machine, which scalded her with steam and melted mentholated ointment. The resulting burns would require many reconstructive surgeries over the years.

(Difference) USA Today had more about the injury and what happened while NBC didn't really say anything about that. Both the stories are every well put together. They both use the Facebook thing and almost are the same. They are very similar and definitely don't have that much of a difference to them.
