Game developer Mojang last year announced it was working on Minecraft Dungeons -- a blocky version of classic dungeon crawlers. We are now aware of when it will finally arrive. The game was originally planned for release in 2019. Microsoft has announced that the game will be arriving on Xbox One, PC, Switch and PS4 in April of next year.
The game is unique in its Minecraft style and feel However, it also is a departure from the series' standard game's formula. Instead of letting players let their imaginations run wild on a vast and wide canvas, Dungeons is an adventure game full of quests, characters and items, and is played by up to four players online.
Mojang's Dungeons is an ongoing passion project however, it's not their only Minecraft spin-off. Mojang was also the creator of Minecraft: Story Mode. Cubpack88 This narrative-driven adventure game proved to be extremely popular after it was launched in 2015.
According to Microsoft's most recent -- and somewhat ambiguous trailer, those who sign up via Mojang's website will be in with a possibility of playing Dungeons first, perhaps hinting at a beta ahead of the official launch in April. However, when exactly that launch will occur isn't clear.
