一般而言，一座紙紮房屋價格約在10,000.~30,000.元。 也有更大型華麗的莊園屋宇，一座要價十餘萬元。 而北部與中部使用的紙板型紙紮，價格就便宜很多，約5,000.~6,000.元。 內容則有紙厝、櫃子、箱子、汽車、金山、銀山和男女傭人。 棺內物品 除了遺體外，臺灣傳統習俗棺木內還放置什麼東西？ 庫錢（銀紙）庫錢或銀紙放置在棺木底層，目的是吸屍水用。
水被覆蓋屍體的被子，一般以白布中綴紅布，現今亦有以陀羅尼經被覆之。 桃枝 柳枝意謂供亡者往陰間路上驅狗或拄杖使用，今人多已不用。 過山褲是一件褲管一正縫一反縫的褲子，意謂供亡者在往陰間路上遇有惡鬼攔路時，丟給對方穿的緩兵之計。 因褲管一正一反無法穿上，亡者可趁機逃離。
臺灣民眾一般使用的骨灰罈製作材質，大部分是用天然玉石類車製而成，也有用陶瓷或琉璃製作。 應是隨各人喜好，但是價格則依材質的不同而有差異。
石頭 豆鼓 熟雞蛋或鹹鴨蛋意謂若石頭腐爛，豆鼓發芽，雞蛋（鴨蛋）孵出小雞（小鴨），才能回來與家人相聚。 外燴 即幽冥兩隔，永不能見面之意，今人多已不用。
若寫於立軸，則稱「輓軸」；若是橫寫，則稱為「輓額」。 至於輓聯，則是兩聯句輓詞，如「流水夕陽千古恨 淒風苦雨百年愁」、「歸去來兮，夜月樓臺花萼影 行不得也，漫天風雨鷓鴣聲」。 今人則把四字橫書的「輓額」稱為「輓聯」。
即近親（宗親、姻親）的弔祭，仍保留比較傳統形式，依禮應具備牲禮粿品來祭拜亡者。 但這些近親不必親自準備牲禮粿品，而委由喪家代辦（實際是禮儀社代辦）。
現今贈送輓聯者，通常為機關團體、政府官員、民意代表，或是有身分地位者。 奠儀奠儀古稱「賻贈」或「楮敬」。 「賻贈」是親友用金錢協助喪家殮葬（辦理喪事）的意思。 「楮敬」是以金錢供喪家買香燭銀紙於靈前焚燒使用。
