過山褲是一件褲管一正縫一反縫的褲子，意謂供亡者在往陰間路上遇有惡鬼攔路時，丟給對方穿的緩兵之計。 因褲管一正一反無法穿上，亡者可趁機逃離。 石頭 豆鼓 熟雞蛋或鹹鴨蛋意謂若石頭腐爛，豆鼓發芽，雞蛋（鴨蛋）孵出小雞（小鴨），才能回來與家人相聚。 即幽冥兩隔，永不能見面之意，今人多已不用。 手巾 扇子 梳子供亡者擦汗、扇涼和梳理用，同時也有喻傷心離散之意（扇、散同音；手巾拭淚；梳，離也）。 金銀紙遺體入棺後，除了以庫錢或銀紙填塞固定外，依傳統禮俗左腳踩一金紙，右腳則踏一銀紙，稱「左踩金，又踏銀」，喻富貴之意。 隨身庫（金銀庫）用一白色布袋，裝入亡者初終至入殮期間，在其靈前焚燒的庫錢、銀紙的灰燼，置於棺內，稱為隨身庫。
