壽衣（老嫁妝） 遺體在入殮前，應予沐浴，把身體洗乾淨，然後換上一套新的或是乾淨的衣服。 這套衣服就是壽衣（老一輩有稱為「老嫁妝」者，意即一個人年老時，在最後一次離家出門《出殯》，要穿著或使用的物品）。
「賻贈」是親友用些許金錢協助喪家殮葬（辦理喪事）的意思。 「楮敬」是供喪家買香燭銀紙於靈前焚燒使用。 對於來問喪弔唁的親友賓客，古時候喪家應於卒哭或除靈之後，分胙於弔者，即把祭拜用的肉分給來弔喪的親友享用。 臺灣早期是以豬肉、龜粿分給親友餉用，以誌謝悃，稱為「答紙」或「答紙禮」。
由於花卉擺放靈堂前，既溫馨又肅穆，價格也不貴，因此很受歡迎。 花籃價格約1,000.~3,000.元。 羅馬柱羅馬柱是鮮花的另一種呈現方式，用一羅馬柱子，上頭放一大盆鮮花。
隨身庫的意思，就是亡者「隨身攜帶的金庫」。 隨身嫺 隨身嫺是一對置於棺內的男女紙俑，為供亡者貼身使喚的奴僕，今人或已不用。
火化棺木火化棺木較不講求木材材質，棺木外觀都會上漆或是貼皮處理。 火化棺木比較重視內部裝潢和使用的方便性，如兩截式棺蓋方便家屬瞻仰遺容。 一般火化棺木價格約8,000.~15,000.元。
現在大都是火化，棺木工廠做好出廠時，棺內已有很漂亮的裝潢，棺底亦鋪有墊布，遺體直接放入，不再鋪墊其他物品。 七星板棺底鋪好庫錢或銀紙後，舊時上面會放一塊薄木板，上繪北斗七星或鑿七孔（左三右四），稱「七星板」。 外燴 七星板源於魏晉南北朝，盛行於隋唐五代時期。 七星板的意義似是給死者以北斗引路或方向之用，也有鎮煞之意。
