The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is a state-owned road transport company in India. Its main office is situated at Vijayawada's Pandit Nehru Bus Station's NTR Administrative Block of RTC House. Twelve Regional Managers work in the four zones that make up the organization. There are 129 bus depots, 426 bus stops, and 11,678 buses operating across 44,15 lakh kilometers (8964 owned by the government). All APSRTC vehicles in the state will be registered starting on January 30, 2019, with the prefix AP-39, followed by "Z" and four digits.

The convenience and facilities provided by private operators are more significant for this group of travelers. Therefore, it is important to research both types of operators, namely STUs and private operators, with regard to the vehicles they provide for passenger transport. The Vijayawada bus station is one of the biggest in the continent of Asia and the biggest in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This service is available for 2 hours before the long-distance service's departure and 2 hours following arrival.
