When the Plane is Pitched Up

One of the issues with flying in Minecraft is the inability to observe the ground due to shorter render distances. need realtor MFS helps correct this with a variety of flight instruments. Instruments can be integrated into the plane GUI, and will appear in the HUD and on the plane based on their placement in the GUI. You can change the four modes of the HUD by pressing the mod button together with the cam lock key.

1. Normal: Displays the top rows of gauges as well as the parking brake and throttle. 2. Full: Displays the usual HUD and lower gauge rows.

3. Light: Shows only the top three gauges. No background. Also displays in third-person.

4. None: There is no HUD.

Multiple flight instruments and gauges are available for planes, each having specific uses.

Attitude Indicator

The attitude indicator is among the most versatile instruments. It indicates the plane's position relative to the ground. The indicator spins to show the current roll, and the inner circle is able to move up and down to show the pitch of the plane. Be aware that the direction that the plane is pointing isn't the exact same as the direction that the plane is going. A plane that is pointing upwards could actually be in a stall and fall like rocks.

Altimeter

This gauge is merely a way to show how high the plane is. The short pointer is able to count 100 blocks, while the long pointer counts 10 blocks. The default behavior of the altimeter is to read zero at Y=0. However, you can change this behavior to read 0 at sea-level (Y=64).

Heading Indicator

This simple gauge will tell the direction you're heading. This gauge is similar to its real-world counterpart however it has been modified to accommodate Minecraft's unique south-is positive coordinate system. It is possible to use the debug screen , but what's all the fun in that?

Airspeed Indicator

This gauge measures the speed of the plane in blocks per second. A plane should be able to fly in the green zone. However, this will depend on the flap settings and weight. While the yellow zone is safe, sudden moves and flap deployments are not recommended. The red zone must be avoided as exceeding the speed of this zone could result in the things breaking. Minecraft will stop processing the plane's forces correctly after it has passed 50 blocks in a second. This can result in undefined behavior. Do note that the flyable speed alters depending on the speed factor changed in the configuration.

Turn Coordinator

This gauge shows the speed of the plane rotates, and the rate at which it is increasing. It will move when the plane turns however it will stop moving when the aileron has been removed. This lets the pilot alter the plane's roll to make a smooth turn. The bottom part of the gauge shows the slip in the turn, or how straight the plane is in comparison to the direction in which it is moving in. A well-coordinated turn results in the highest lift potential and best control.

Turn and Slip Indicator for Turn and Slip

This indicator is the precursor to the turn coordinator. The difference is that this indicator doesn't take into account the roll of the aircraft. It is preferred by older pilots and experienced pilots. If the artificial horizon is lost due to clouds or inability of the indicator of attitude the indicator can be used to perform the Stark 1-2-3 maneuver.

Vertical Speed Indicator

This indicator tells you how many blocks per second the plane is moving in the direction of Y. The gradual climb is approximately 0.75, but with flaps or a lighter payload this could be higher than 1.

Lift Reserve Indicator

The lift reserve indicator is a new addition to the world of aeronautics. It displays how much of the aircraft's lift potential is being utilized. The yellow-green line indicates that the plane is operating at an angle of attack of zero, i.e. The plane isn't producing any lift. As the plane is pitched upwards the needle is moving towards the red zone. The plane is at its critical angle of attack, producing maximal lift at the yellow-red border. Passing into the red zone can cause the plane to stop, which causes a rapid loss of lift potential. It is useful when runways with short lengths require quick ascent.

Tachometer

This gauge shows the current RPM of all engines. It also shows the safest speed at which you can safely operate as indicated by the redline marker. This helps make sure that you don't over-revve your engines.

Fuel Gauge

Shows fuel level. 'Nuff said.

Fuel Flow Gauge

This gauge measures the amount of fuel consumed by the aircraft. This gauge is more than an essential component. Fuel consumption is in buckets per minute, with each bucket representing the default fuel level of 1000.

Engine Temperature Gauge

This gauge shows the temperature of each engine. The needle should be maintained in the green position for the longest engine life. To prevent engine damage an engine that has temperatures in the yellow zone below the yellow mark needs to be warmed up prior to embarking. An engine with an elevated temperature of red will cause damage to the engine.
