Minecraft Map is Now Completely Mined After Five Years

The Minecraft map is huge and can be difficult to wrap your head (and pick and shovel) around. For the majority of players, they'll be able to start a new world long before they've seen the entirety of the old one, and then clean it free of diamonds, redstone, and other precious stones before moving on to new ground. One player, however Minthical, a YouTuber Minthical, takes a considerably more thorough approach.



We often write about incredible Minecraft builds like people creating MS Paint or magically changing villages. But it's rare that we can mention a good Minecraft map. Well, at least official ones. The IKEA one really speaks for itself. This map is unique as it doesn't concentrate on what's being created but rather what's being destroyed.



Minthical is a YouTuber who, over the last five years, has been mining away every single block on one map. To put it in perspective, that's nearly 45 million blocks. Minthical streamed live on August 12th to demonstrate how close they are to getting through this impossible task. They also discuss the number of blocks they have mined, the challenges they encountered, and important points on the scale. It's a great showcase for those who are obsessed with stats.
