Minetest is a open source and free game engine voxel, inspired initially by Minecraft it's gradually becoming larger and better with plenty of available games for it. A new release is coming soon with Minetest 5.4.0 currently having a first release Candidate which is a time when they'll need as many users as possible to try it out and make sure that it works as expected.
They added an in-game interface to download games and mods back in Minetest 5.0, which was released in 2019. It worked, and they improved it with each time, but the main issue was the dependency system. One mod would require another, needing another and the list goes on. It was a pain to find them all, but it is now much simpler. The 5.4 release comes with a new interface for downloading games and mods as well as dependency resolution, an update all capability, and download queues.

It makes it a huge amount simpler, and faster too. It lets you personalize your Minetest experience. Want to cram every possible mod you can into the core Minetest game? Do it. Are you interested in trying an entire game of conversion? You can also try a whole conversion game.
