GOG.com sells gaming docos. Movies and TV on the main stream might be next

Game sale and distribution service GOG.com now traffics in documentaries on video games.
The company, which is a subsidiary to CD Projekt Red, the creator of The Witcher, grew its reputation by selling older PC games that ran on newer systems.
There are currently 21 documentaries up for sale for just US$6 each (except one), including Indie Game: The Movie Special Edition, Once Upon Atari, Playing Columbine, and Minecraft: The Story of Mojang.
It is the only legal venue to host Gamer Age and The Kingdom of Arcades..
This expansion is part of a bigger plan to provide Hollywood films, TV shows, and other content on the website, without DRM.
"Our initial plan was to start with the big boys, but it is difficult." said GOG.com's North America boss Guillaume Rambourg.
"In our first round we received a lot of feedback. We were enthralled by your ideas, but did not want to be the first. We will follow your lead, but we don't want to risk it unless someone else does it first.
"Most studio executives agreed that DRM is pointless, but were quick to declare that the lawyers would not allow them to remove it."

GOG.com has been updated to add three local currencies: Pounds Sterling Euros, Australian Dollars, Russian Pounds Sterling, and Rubles. However, anyone can still pay with US dollars.
